Mr. Burns, a post-electric play is a dark comedy set in an apocalyptic world, questioning the stories we would remember from before. This project was executed as part of Northern Arizona University’s VisualDESIGNLab, a collaborative learning opportunity for students to work with real clients. The client needed a show poster and marketing materials for the NAU Theatre 2018–2019 Season. Design considerations included the required use of a poster footer and an approval process with Fox Entertainment. The solution embodies the importance of storytelling by illustrating figures around a campfire. The hand lettered title ebbs and flows, representing the constant need for adaptation in a dangerous world. There is a mystery as to what lurks in the dark forest background, but still the eye is drawn to the element of light and hope.
