All in the Timing is a collection of six quirky one-acts about love, absurdism, existentialism, and time. This project was executed as part of Northern Arizona University’s VisualDESIGNLab, a collaborative learning opportunity for students to work with real clients. Although this is a conceptual poster for NAU Theatre, the show’s director still stressed minimalism in design. The final illustration embodies the play’s themes. Existentialism is implied as the girl’s existence falls apart, while her expression emanates the pressure of time. Absurdism is implied with a boy who loves this twisted situation. The boy’s hopeful expression represents the characters searching for something bigger than themselves, while the girl is larger in scale. A simple, linear illustration style aligns with the director’s minimalistic vision. Serif typography wraps around the illustration as a supporting feature.
